CSR Chainlink
The Corporate Social Responsibility Chain Link is a partnership of 3 organisations: the Danish Development Research Network (DDRN), Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda (ICGU) and Uganda Christian University, Mukono (UCU).
The Danish Development Research Network (DDRN) is a network linking research-based knowledge and development within the sectors of agriculture, environment, and governance. It currently has more than 1,200 members primarily in Denmark and developing countries. Members are drawn from the research community, the private sector, NGOs and development organisations.
The Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda (ICGU), based in Kampala, Uganda, has a membership of over 100 corporate entities and 500 individuals. The Institute was initially promoted by the government as part of a reform and divestiture program aimed at improving accountability within the public enterprise sector, and has since evolved into a private sector institution training senior managers and directors in Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility.
The Uganda Christian University (UCU) is a private church-founded university with about 1300 students. While the majority of faculty and students are Ugandan, UCU has attracted students from East African countries and a number of expatriate staff from North America, Europe and Australia-New Zealand. Its mission is dedicated through teaching, scholarship, service, spiritual formation, student development and social involvement to the preparation of students for thoughtful, productive lives of Christian faith and service in their respective professions and places.
The CSR Chainlink promotes collaboration between researchers and experts of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), corporations and institutions involved in CSR as well as community leaders.
